Bline-header-two

Through its continuing efforts to ensure that safe, respectful pledging and recruitment activities continue on campus, Binghamton University has uncovered a report of underage alcohol use and behavior involving members of the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity that could violate the University's hazing policy. The University is currently investigating and has shared the incident report with Binghamton police. The University is also cooperating with the national Alpha Chi Rho headquarters as the investigation proceeds. Both the University and the national organization have suspended all fraternity activities pending the outcome of the investigation.

In addition, in concert with actions by the national organization of Zeta Beta Tau to remove recognition from the current membership of the Binghamton University chapter for non-payment of dues, Binghamton University will also terminate University recognition of the ZBT fraternity. Upon withdrawal of recognition, all chapter operations must cease and all campus privileges and University permission of the chapter to function are revoked. At the appropriate time, the University will work with the national ZBT organization to review options for re-colonization.

The University will continue to work to promptly identify and respond to situations that could compromise student safety. If you have information about any hazing activity, contact the New York State University Police at Binghamton University at 607-777-2393.
